Solar Christmas Lights !!
We always see many people turn on the outdoor christmas lights for whole night during the Xmas holiday. That's really waste energy. If they use solar Christmas lights, the light will be automatic to turn on in dark. This's really ecological, respectful to the environment and economic.
Now economic is bad ! Gas price is high ! Everything costs more. We need to think about how to save money for our living.

Guest speaker, Dr. Eugene Lee

Dr. Lee gave us many ideas about wiki. He described how to create and use wiki to toward the digital age. He talked about “Collaborative Intelligence” and how people do well with partnership and team work. I strongly agree with that, especially I’m working with a Taiwanese Student Association. It was big challenge to me while I was the president in the student club. I needed to deal with young people who are in digital age. I also updated our club’s website and link the forum to the website, and then students can post their information through the discussion boards while they have housing problems or questions about school and classes. We also use MSN messenger to communicate with other student associations and other schools. At the same time, we answer members’ question directly online. It’s also like how to collect all the information together in order to help and communicate with other students.

Our discussion boards are just like Dr. Lee said “Participatory Knowledge”. We share information together because students can post and answer other’s questions. Although it’s not a business for us, it’s a service.

Dr. Lee also talked about how to increase and develop business with wiki sites. It’s about how to create a stage to develop “Business Social Networks” and lead employees to be more expert with new technologies.

Week 7 - Learned a lot

This week we leaned about Voicethread, Diigo, and Secondlife from three of our classmates. Those are very interesting to me, especially secondlife and voicethread. Voicethread is very easy to use and create a voice over video in several mins. Secondlife is like a online game to me. I believe that it takes much time to play with it. Unfortunately, I don't have time to play.

My group didn't finish our video yet. We will continue to work on it next Monday. I also have some ideas to share with my group. We would like to make more interesting for our video.

Yu-Fen taught me a lot things to create new stuffs for my blog. It's really fun. I also try to find some other functions to have fun with that.
