I finished the frist one and third one, but for uploading the videos, the password of CI to access SFSU server was invalid. I couldn't do any editing on the website. The associated director of CI is trying to get the new password for me.

I was thinking to add Flick link as a web 2.0 tool for my 894 project. After I went to Web 2.0 Expo, I would like to use photobucket instead of Flickr. The main reason why I choose it, it’s because photobucket is easier to sign up a new account. I don’t want to provide my personal information for sign a new account for my project because I will link on the website. I also like their another function. It’s better and easier to use than Voicethread. It’s like a online “i-movie” tool.
I received some ideas and learned more useful tools at the conference. I also got free beer, free popcorn, free chips, free cookies and free shopping bags.

Text parts are not heavy on the home pages. Each page is very clear with white and blue colors. Those are very satisfied colors. They use video to demon each section and make clear introduction for users.
Labeling: There are six sections on the top navigation after user sign in. It’s easy to find the schedule with the calendar. Teachers can schedule their lessons (sessions) and also find other sessions from “Public Sessions”. Text with graphic is very easy to find and read. Especially, some main points are labeled
Consistency:
The top navigation is functional for users to use and move easily to each page. All the layouts for each page are white background and using light colors.
Detail:
On “members” section, there too many text links to link. Although there is a search engine for users to find their interested topic and course, it’s hard to read and scroll down the page. It’s better to manage into different fields.
On Interactivity Orientation:
There is a top navigation for users to switch the sections, but there is more details on the bottom. It appears too much for the content information on the page.
Navigation: The top navigation is easy to find and click to switch, but there is no main categories to arrange those “Popular Tags”. The navigation is like a main menu for each element. It’s better to combine the top navigation with the bottom text buttons.
Functionality:
This website is very functional for teachers. Teachers can easily to create their online lessons and share resources with other teachers and students.

They provide the search engine for each page. Users can find their interested subjects and topics quickly.

First impression is very clear and simple without heavy text. They use light colors and simple graphic for the layouts.

It’s full screen sizes. Users need to scroll down on the web pages.

Colors are light colors. The main colors are white, blue and green. Those are nature colors and good for eyes. Text color is dark gray not black. Hyperlink color is blue. It’s very comfortable to look at.

Two well design things
There are two design products that I want to buy. Frist one is the camera stand "Monster Pod". I can use it while I take pictures alone or want to take a picture with my friend, and I don't need to ask a stranger to take a picture for me. I can use it and put with the position that I want. It's really useful for travel too.
Another is the tea spoon. I can put tea leaves in the tea spoon instead of puting the leaves in the cup and drink with the leaves. I like to find new design products and learn new technologies. It's also a way to increase more design ideas.

We always see many people turn on the outdoor christmas lights for whole night during the Xmas holiday. That's really waste energy. If they use solar Christmas lights, the light will be automatic to turn on in dark. This's really ecological, respectful to the environment and economic.
Now economic is bad ! Gas price is high ! Everything costs more. We need to think about how to save money for our living.
Guest speaker, Dr. Eugene Lee
Dr. Lee gave us many ideas about wiki. He described how to create and use wiki to toward the digital age. He talked about “Collaborative Intelligence” and how people do well with partnership and team work. I strongly agree with that, especially I’m working with a Taiwanese Student Association. It was big challenge to me while I was the president in the student club. I needed to deal with young people who are in digital age. I also updated our club’s website and link the forum to the website, and then students can post their information through the discussion boards while they have housing problems or questions about school and classes. We also use MSN messenger to communicate with other student associations and other schools. At the same time, we answer members’ question directly online. It’s also like how to collect all the information together in order to help and communicate with other students.
Our discussion boards are just like Dr. Lee said “Participatory Knowledge”. We share information together because students can post and answer other’s questions. Although it’s not a business for us, it’s a service.
Dr. Lee also talked about how to increase and develop business with wiki sites. It’s about how to create a stage to develop “Business Social Networks” and lead employees to be more expert with new technologies.
Week 7 - Learned a lot
This week we leaned about Voicethread, Diigo, and Secondlife from three of our classmates. Those are very interesting to me, especially secondlife and voicethread. Voicethread is very easy to use and create a voice over video in several mins. Secondlife is like a online game to me. I believe that it takes much time to play with it. Unfortunately, I don't have time to play.
My group didn't finish our video yet. We will continue to work on it next Monday. I also have some ideas to share with my group. We would like to make more interesting for our video.
Yu-Fen taught me a lot things to create new stuffs for my blog. It's really fun. I also try to find some other functions to have fun with that.
Week 5 - MacWorld 2008 conference
I found my apartment and sold my used furniture from Craigslist. I bought and sold my books on amazon.com, and I printed out the direction from google map. I uploaded my videos to Toutube. How the web 2.0 affect our life ? Why we spend more and more time to face our computers and get online ? We use wiki to share knowledge and information online. We use iGoogle to arrange the sites. It's "participation" , "resources" ," Tools" .......
We can look at those customer reviews while we're going to buy something from amazon.com and find the best deal. We also can link to library data through the site.
A lot of things are connected together from site to site. From this presentation, I learn more other web tools that I didn't know before.

Week 5 - google earth , flickr , e-learning
Two of our classmates had very good presentation to introduce us earthgoogle and flickr. We also had guest speaker to talk about his e-learning website. Google earth (earth.google.com) is very cool online program, and it can guide people to the real world with real images. Although it needs to be download and installed, it can make people feel flying around the world. I can find the picture which is near my mother's home in Taiwan. This's really cool ! Another cool thing is that we can find out the traffic anytime through Google earth. It also can show people the direction from place A to place B.
Flickr is like a place to store my pictures. I also like to store my pictures online and give the link or account to share pictures with my friends and family. I don't need to e-mail a lot pictures and worry about the image's size. It's very good tool to arrange and store our pictures. It also provide a method to post images on Blog site with a link. That's really convenient online tool.
For the online E-learning section, it's very good ideas to create a online classes for people to teach and learn online. Although the website we saw in the class is not quite completed, at least it's a good instructional idea to create a e-learning place.
Lately I found out that .....I am using online resources in stead of going to the library to find books ! I would like to sit in front of my computer and look my monitor all the time ! :p

My desktop is turned on 24 hours every day. My friends and my family members can leave messages online through MSN messenger or Skype. I check my e-mails every hour daily. I can’t live without a computer and internet because it’s the way to connect with my overseas friends and family members. I usually look for solutions and answers online if I have any question or problem. I can also learn new software from online forums or online lessons because many people in the world respond and help me out with my learning.
